PROTOTYPE CHARITY ART SALE FOR GEORGE FLOYD MEMORIAL FUND, MINNESOTA FREEDOM FUND and campaign zero

In this time of inequality, injustice and much needed social reform, I decided to sell a number of my art prototypes and put the proceeds toward causes that promote and stand up for racial justice. Prototypes are often imperfect, work toward progression and are a catalyst for change and new beginnings so it seems fitting that now is the time to put them to good use.

Some of them are flawed or partially incomplete, but I’ve always enjoyed having them around as a reminder of my art journey and the steps that I’ve taken over the years to progress. In the description of each piece, I share its story and how it came to be, along with any issues that arose in the experimentation process. Shipping is additional and added at checkout.

This piece was an experiment with 3D forms using pegs and a spiral sub-sculpture. The shape has a slight spiral to it visible at some angles but was not as pronounced as I had intended. The glue had some expansion causing some of the pegs to be a bit uneven. It’s a bit heavier than I was aiming for and is hung with a cleat to accommodate the weight. There is some minor paint overspill on the sides of the pegs but overall this is a pretty finished looking prototype.
