In this time of inequality, injustice and much needed social reform, I decided to sell a number of my art prototypes and put the proceeds toward causes that promote and stand up for racial justice. Prototypes are often imperfect, work toward progression and are a catalyst for change and new beginnings so it seems fitting that now is the time to put them to good use.

Some of them are flawed or partially incomplete, but I’ve always enjoyed having them around as a reminder of my art journey and the steps that I’ve taken over the years to progress. In the description of each piece, I share its story and how it came to be, along with any issues that arose in the experimentation process. Shipping is additional and added at checkout.

The first of many plexiglass prototypes, this was my attempt at encasing paint “pegs” inside of plexiglass. It involved drilling the holes, bonding plexiglass to the front, filling the holes, and then bonding the white plexiglass to the back, not to mention routering the edges and polishing them. What I didn’t realize in this experiment was how the bonding process of the front and back plexiglass would affect the holes. On the front side, it created an unevenness because of the bonding agent, and on the rear side, the liquid plastic agent had a dissolving effect on the paint as you can see in the photos. It mounts with a wall cleat and looks really cool, but needs some adjustment in the process before these are gallery ready.
